Day 2 of malacca began with a visit of the museum. Initially, we were wondering why there was an exhibition called "enduring beauty" when the stuff inside were all about malacca. We finally understood when we reached the top level where there were showcases of people all over the world and their perception of beauty, much of which has to do with causing physical harm to their bodies. Some examples include corsets, inserting needles under their skin, inserting extremely large lip plates into their lips so they look like ducks from the sides, earrings, tattoos and many others. Pretty heavy for such an early morning.

After the museum, we started our day of shopping. The stuff here were generally cheaper than singapore, especially the clothes. They have a lot of factory outlets stores and you can get a decent looking tee shirt for less than 20 ringgit. We shopped till about 1pm where we had lunch at pizza hut at makohta parade. The reason we chose it was because the price of the pizzas there had the same numerical value as singapore, but of a different currency. They even had free pepsi refill! And since this meal was a treat from jenn haur, I shan't complain on the food because the food was more or less the same standard everywhere I guess.

Continued shopping till 3pm where we decided to make a trip to the baba nyonya heritage mesuem to learn more about the peranakan culture, one of my motive for visiting malacca. The tour was an enriching one, and I really liked the way the peranakans used to build their houses. Everything had a purpose and yet it looked really beautiful. I think the visit was appropriate since am watching the little nyonya on channel 8 every night now. Had dinner at a nearby peranakan restaurant. One thing I noticed was they tend to prefer their food spicy and salty, and seldom can you find something bland in their menu. Spent the evening at gepgrapher's bar playing daidee before jenn haur made his way back to hotel to rest while some of us made some last minute shopping.

Reached back at hotel at around 10 pm to pack because there wasn;t much time to do so the next day. Slept pretty late as we played daidee all the way till 1am and many funny names were given to the different rankings we had for the game. This has to remain a secret lest I get into trouble and extend my ord.
