After a year of enlistment, I'm finally promoted to 3SG. However, I am not particularly proud of it. The fact is I didn't earn it. There are about 10 other guys in the office doing similar job as me everyday and they do not get promoted to 3SG because of the difference in vocation. This is not to say that I am not happy about it, because I am bloody happy about the pay rise despite it being only a $140 increase a month. At least now I get some pride when talking to assholes who like to put people down with their rank. The sad thing about promotion is that everyone is asking for a promotion treat. This technically cancels off the first month of the pay rise. But it's ok, because I have superb ninja skills and can siam as long as possible.

Today I had to make a trip down to the traffic police HQ in Ubi to record a statement for Zhilin's accident back in January. I found it super irritating for them to demand that I make a trip all the way down to tell them stuff that I can't even remember properly myself. Moreover, it was raining cats and dogs, probably the heaviest in this year. The IO even made me wait for almost half and hour before deciding to see me. I thought he was asking a favour from me by asking me to record a statement as witness for the accident? Where is the sincerity? Luckily my aunt was working there and I could call her and talk a bit. But the process was rather ridiculous as they ask stuff that no one will notice when travelling in the car. Questions such as "Did you notice any vehicles parked at the side of the road?", "Do you know what speed the vehicle was travelling at?" and " What is the distance between your vehicle and the lorry in front?" were asked, and I didn't dare to guess because I was afraid of making a false account. The whole lame process lasted for about less than 15 minutes of which 12 minutes was him typing away on his computer. But it was a cool experience. The number of injured people in the traffic police HQ and the number of people paying fines was huge. This shows how poorly the conduct of motorists in Singapore are.

Going to bed now. Having duties on the 10th, 12th, 14th, 17th and 19th in a row can really kill if coupled with a lack of sleep. That's like 5 duties in 10 days.
