I am super pissed. At first I was told I didn't have to pass my ippt to get promoted to corporal but I have to pass to get promoted to 3SG. So for these few months I've given a damn about all the ippt dates and instead just concentrated on when the date of promotion will be. Then on 260907, when almost all of my coursemates were promoted to corporal, ming tai and I are still privates. When we called to enquire, we now have to clear out ippt to be promoted to corporal, which means I have to find a suitable test date when I don't have duty to take the test. Afterwhich the results will be submitted to some place then only then will I be promoted to corporal with a pay rise of merely $70. I am pissed not because I cannot pass my ippt, but that I was lied to and kept in the dark for so long, when throughout these 3 months had a chance to take the test anyway. And then everyone is asking, "eh Alan, why still private?"
Not that a higher rank meant that you are a better person. Today at 0645 hrs, a bloody irritating sergeant did something to make me hate him forever. At first he woke us up to draw ammo so I told him to give us a minute while we get the vouchers ready. So he assumed that we'd take a long time and started to take our night snacks for the previous night to eat. Then when we were ready, his stupid mouth was still chewing the stupid night snack and stupidly had us waiting in the rover for him. Then when he finally stupidly got into the rover and we went to proceed to the ammo magazine, we reached a point where the recruits probably closed the safety gate by order of the RSM. As it was not locked and the stupid sergeant was sitting in front, i told him to go and open it. Still chewing his stupid night snack, he told me to open it and insisted it's locked. I reluctantly agreed and as I was climbing out the back of the rover, I slipped on the slippery step and fell to injure my left knee and my arm. But the stupid sergeant still did not exit the vehicle to help me open the gate. So he incurred my wrath and I swore to book him if he made any violations. I opened the gate and we went to the ammo mag and blah blah blah... He, still chwing the stupid night snack, couldn't even count the rounds properly. If his handphone rang, I swear I'm gonna book him and report to his OC and my OC. Luckily for him, it did not. How I hope he was eating the poison dettol cupcakes we prepared for the monkeys the previous day.

I've changed my blog template to this really cool navigation type which may be confusing to people who were following my old blogs. But the fact that you are able to reach this page means that you understand how this works and that your iq is not so low after all.
Everything I type on my blog are my own personal comments purely for memory (or in certain cases, stress relieving) purposes and not targetted on inflicting irreversible mental trauma on whoever's name that is mentioned. I also do not like to discuss things mentioned in the blog outside of my blog. What's in the blog, remains in the blog.
Please tag on the tagboard to give me constructive comments or just to say hi. I love to say hi because greetings are free.

of becoming introverted and poisoning monkeys
6:51 AM
Can people actually change from being extroverted to being introverted? I think it is possible and I'm perhaps a rather good example. A few years back, I would have proudly said that I am an extrovert, a bit too extroverted actually. But recently, I realised I'm becoming more self-contained and afraid to meet new people. I prefer to be alone or with a few friends rather than a whole bunch of people. A good example will be how I managed to finish grey's anatomy series 1 and 2 and half of prison break series 2 in approximately 1+ week. And how I now prefer using friendster and facebook to communicate with friends rather than msn, which I have on all the time I'm online. What will happen to me when I go to NUS in 2 years time, when most of the people I meet are probably strangers? I think I can just die and be a pathetic antisocial freak who'll always be found in the school library!
Anyway, yesterday was an amazing day because I found a new future career for myself. A monkey exterminator! Realising that there's an increasing amount of monkeys around the ammo magazine office, Kevin and I came up with a great plan to kill the monkeys. Firsly, realising that they seem to eat anything we left outside, I decided to throw a piece of mosquito coil at them and true enough, a pack came running after it and started to fight for it. But after some sniffing, they realised that it wasn't edible (monkeys are smart after all) and discarded them. So the genius me went to look for expired cakes that's in the forsaken fridge and I found one that was almost a month expired. But I thought it wasn't good enough, so me and Kevin decided to add dettol into the cake and throw feed it to the monekys. This time, we managed to trick them and a few monkeys gobbled the dettol cakes down. Having a deep hatred for monkeys as they always overturn the trashbin and making us clean the floor, I came up with an even more vicious plan. i took a can of green spray paint and sprayed the cakes green and threw it to the monkeys. true enough, they still gobbled the "painted cakes" down as if they were heavenly. but we realised we actually attracted more monkeys and did the right thing by retreating into the office. haha. After that, I didn't really see much monkeys anymore and thus I conclude that I have killed a few monkeys by poisoning them with poison cakes. (The animal rights group are coming to get me.) This is a fine example of "making an example of a few dead poisoned monkeys to warn the other living monkeys".

of blogging
1:15 PM - Friday, September 21, 2007
I was just watching a discussion programme on channel u which talks about blogging. Actually I was attracted to it because xiaxue and steven lim, the 2 at loggerheads, are both guests to the show. However, the show gave me a few insights about blogging. One thing that set me thinking the most was why do some people blog? For xiaxue, as much as she denied, it was pretty obvious it was the fnancial reward behing all the advertistments that are in her blog that's spurring her. For steven lim, it's obvious he just wants attention. For me, I think I blog because I want to let my feelings out. I want to have a platform for me to type stuff that people who are interested can read and those who are not don't have to read. Although sometimes I use it as a tool to scold certain people, but It's because I wanna let it out of me rather than wanting the person to read it and feel bad. In short, I blog because I want to blog and I don't care if anyone read them or not. But to those who do, thanks!

Time passes very fast recently, since the recruits are having their POP this week. Life is slowing down work is getting lesser. Things seem to be progressing very well. However, I dunno why I always feel there's something missing in my life. Why do I have so much time to sleep at home after my duty all the time? Why does everyone else seem so busy except for me? When we have no time, we complain, when we have too much time, we complain also. That's so typical of Singaporeans, and since I'm one, I have the right to do so too.
I don't know what I'm trying to say in this post.

of falling sick AGAIN
12:37 PM - Monday, September 10, 2007
Have had a rather busy and tiring week. Much of it has to do with the much talked about topic recently, the NSF Dave Teo leaving his camp with his rifle and live rounds. As a result, the security has been a bit tight around ammo work and the duty officers like to go up for stock checks. And I guessed I kinda came down with flu and cough AGAIN! I really don't know how long this has been carrying on but it's I'm getting really fed up over this on and off falling sick and recovering cycle. Even kevin and ming tai has fallen sick so I guess it has something to do with the ammo magazine environment. Also it might have something to do with my hectic schedule towards the end of the week.
After wednesday duty, I had to rush to meet swing to settle my insurance stuff. Then went home to catch some sleep before going to katong for karaoke with the ammo dump guys until 11pm. had some supper before going home to sleep at 1am. Went to work the next day and had a meeting until 7pm after falling out. Rushed home to bathe before meeting primero and gang for supper plus midnight movie at lau pa sat and plaza singapura. Slept at 2.30am and still reported for another duty on saturday morning. Had lots os returns and stressful issues to handle and ming tai was sick, so it was basically a one man duty. I guess this fully packed schedule contributed to me falling sick as well.
