I just completed my 2nd understudy at Pulau Tekong ammo magazine. If you are doing a duty, you'll work for 24 hours followed by a whole day off. But a understudy means a 24 hour duty followed by another day's work until 5pm. Luckily it's not as busy because the recruits have just passed out, but it still took a lot out of me because of the replenishment of stock this afternoon. 2 more understudies to go before duties start! 3+ more months to corporal!
Anyway, for those who watched "Just Follow Law", you might remember an old woman acting as Fann Wong's mum. She said she had a blog called laozhabor.blogspot.com. Guess what, it really does exist!

I've changed my blog template to this really cool navigation type which may be confusing to people who were following my old blogs. But the fact that you are able to reach this page means that you understand how this works and that your iq is not so low after all.
Everything I type on my blog are my own personal comments purely for memory (or in certain cases, stress relieving) purposes and not targetted on inflicting irreversible mental trauma on whoever's name that is mentioned. I also do not like to discuss things mentioned in the blog outside of my blog. What's in the blog, remains in the blog.
Please tag on the tagboard to give me constructive comments or just to say hi. I love to say hi because greetings are free.
Remember to check out the songs I'm listening to in the music box segment located at the lower orange rectangle.

So today was the end of my ammunition tech course and I got my posting today. I'm posted to Pulau Tekong to manage the ammo there. Not a bad place, considering it's in the east and a stay out unit. And in a while's time I'll probably be higher rank than 75% of the recruits that are enlisted. Anyway, today was probably the first time in school of ammunition that I felt it actually had a human touch. Firstly, the grumpy old man actually smiled and joked and he was actually the main influence in my posting to tekong (I was supposed to be posted to HQ anyway). Secondly, they actually organised a farewell mini party for us with food from four leaf and old chang kee. But as usual, we had to do the cleaning up. But this time, the sergeant major ensured the perm staff didn't cut our queue like they've done everyday for the past 3 months. Wasn't a bad day spent there today, in fact, it might actually be the best day there in these 3 months. Hoping to see what my new vocation have for me tomorrow and to all my coursemates, all the best in whatever you're posted to!
P.S: Buy i-weekly this week because S.H.E is on the cover and Hebe is damn damn cute!

Events for the past week haven't been much, hence the lack of updates. Probably the most notable thing is that I've started to learn the guitar, on my own, without musical background, and without a guitar. Well, I haven't got a guitar because it's largely dependant on my posting which will determine where I'll be for the next 1 and a half years.
I've just completed the attachement at Pasir Laba Ammo Depot which means I'm coming to the end of my course, which also means I'm getting my posting soon (which is tomorrow!). Quite excited as to where I'm posted to. Arguably the most important factors are the distance from my house (if it's a stay-out unit) or the people and stuff I will meet and learn there (if it's a stay-in unit). Either way, I hope the rest of my NS days won't go to waste, like what has been going on more or less for the last few months.

I think my blog has started to become a weekly update kinda thing.
Good news! I have been awarded the NUS Business Study Award, which has almost laid the last tile in my path to accepting NUS. I'll be studying a concurrent BBA (Hons) and MSc (Mgt) degree in NUS which will probably last for 5 to 5.5 years and the award will cover the tuition fees for the first 4 years. No doubt it's a big difference from the Global Merit Scholarship I'd hoped to get, but I guess this is much better than nothing, considering it saves my family $24,440 over the 4 years. Maybe I'll still try for some other scholarship next year.
Anyway, Saturday was special day for DHSNPCC. It was our 45th anniversary and I had to make it a point to attend the occasion no matter what. Being involved in DHSNPCC from 2001 to 2006, I have seen it come a long way in many different aspects. Of course conflicts and difference in opinions have sprang up during these 45 years, but an undeniable fact is that we have improved. I couldn't agree more when I viewed the 45th anniversary video and I was very touched by the fancy drill performance they put up which comprised for cadets from almost the whole unit. So for students in sec 1(especially so for DHS), who can't decide on what CCA to join, join NPCC.
Anyway, I've been on a shopping spree recently. Though not usually considered an avid fan of reckless splurging, i witnessed myself committing that very sin over the past 2 weeks. A great excuse will be the Great Singapore Sale, and I tell myself, "If I don't buy now, it'll just be more expensive after the sale!" And hence, I predict more of the spree to continue in the coming weeks! =P
