I think SBS Transit is a really nice and kind company. Firstly, when i lost my wallet the other day at Bedok bus interchange, the manager (dunno what's the name of those wearing bright green) took a long time to help me search the bus for my wallet. He even helped me to contact the bus driver to help in the search. Secondly, when it's been confirmed lost (or stolen) and i had no money to go home, he volunteered to lend me $1 to take a bus home, which in the end he didn't know whether was enough. So he waited for my bus with me for about 10 minutes to inform the bus driver to give me a free ride home. Then yesterday, when i went to report my lost EZ-link card and make a replacement at Pasir Ris, they were so efficient that i got the card within 5 minutes. They also allowed you to claim back whatever amount was in the card as well as the remaining value of the concession pass that was in the card. This meant i could at least get $10+ back! Haha, guess that was the only pleasant surprise i got this week.
Gonna have house committee stayover later on in school after drama night. Or rather, we can say it's a gathering of the usual few people in school for some exciting activities in school. Maybe we'll be joined by a few year 1 nominees. Then on saturday, while the school is busy with the vip open house, we'll be going to Sentosa for a super rare outing. I think the previous outing was exactly one year ago with my seniors. Hopefully, everything will turn out well and nothing cocks up.
Last but not least, although this is a late announcement, but jus wanna say...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JASMINE!

SOME ASSHOLE STOLE MY WALLET!
And now I'm penniless. Sorry to all those who wants me to buy concert tickets. I'm broke. Unless some kind soul or my family will lend me some money to tide over this crisis. Now i need:
$18 for replacement of EZ-link card
$100 for replacement of IC
Some cash for replacement of my DBS card.
Some cash for a new wallet.
Now all i have with my is three miserable dollars, $3!!!!
Hopefully that guy will return my IC to me, and he can take the $6+ inside my wallet. Oh, there US$1 inside too.
My life has never got worse.

Today has been a really long and sian day, other than the fact that i did quite some work. The few long bus trips and heavy downpour really drowned the whole atmosphere. I was actually walking around with wet shoes for around 1.5 hours. But studying with Fabian is really enriching. I like the way he teaches, forcing you to think instead of giving you the answer straight away. I even think he's better than Mrs Mah. I tried studying in marine parade library today, but after doing 2 questions of my math tutorial i started feeling drowzy. I shall try to be a hardwoking boy for this week at least to understand if there's any joy in actually mugging. Otherwise, what's the reason behind the various mug clubs set up all around school recently? I am so blogging with no chronological order today. Ending off here.

I just realised how screwed up my JC life actually is. It might seem as if everyting is going well for me. Draco vice-captain, high profile in school, have lots of friends, etc. But when I come to think of it, how many of these are actually real?
Being in draco house committee, as i've said many times before, is actually a facade. It's actually just a position where people find it easily to make use of you. You don't get much respect nor much acknowledgement but you get a whole load of problems and shit dumped upon you. It's much worse than being in students' council, as students' council still gets a lot of recognition and chances to do major events for the school. But what does house committee get? You get to organise events that are deemed "uninteresting" by the school such as sports day and interhouse events and house functions. You get to be made use of by various CCAs when publicising for their competitions by simply mentioning "house points will be awarded". You get to be questioned repetitively on your contributions to the school as we "always seem to not be doing anything". You get cheated and betrayed by your friends when they always ask how's draco doing when they obviously don't bother to do anything for the house. All this goes down to the lack of support we get from the school and an unsupportive teacher in charge of house committee, Mr S**t K*k W*h. And we start to wonder how does the house system get so hyped up and effective in schools like RGS and RI.
I also start to believe that I'm actually "high profile" in the school for the wrong reasons. I'm the kind that people look for when they need you to buy their concert tickets. I'm the kind where people look for to share birthday presents. I'm the kind where people ask you to help them with this and that because i know more people. I'm the kind who's supposed to cheer people up.
At this point of time i find it hard to continue, so i shall add on to this post tml.

Dance concert 2006, Regale, was great. I almost thought i would attend the concert alone but luckily my buddy Jackson decided to accompany me at the last minute. I managed to grab 4 seats in the third row (was joined by zuhao and gladys) from the front where i'm able to see all the girls damn closely. Glad they saw me too. The teachers' item was hillarious. Wonder how Mr Seet will make people fear him after his infamous ballet dancing last night.
After the concert however, i felt so much like a coward. I wanted so much to take pictures with jinglin, steph, lydia, etc but somehow i couldn't find my courage to say,"hey! wanna take a picture?" It just felt weird to me, as I was alone and everyone seemed to be surrounded with a whole bunch of friends and families and boyfriends. i just seemed... unimportant. So all the time, i was with Jackson at the side, looking at how everyone was happily talking to one another and hugging and taking pictures. Heard from Jackson that Yong Sheng used to always do this too. i guess we're rather similar then. Even when lydia was right in front of me, all i could say was, "hey! it was great! congrats! i enjoyed it very much!" Wonder when was it that i became such a coward. Must wake up.
On a separate note, Dunman High speech day was yesterday and as usual, there were some minor screw ups.
Screw up number 1. Band played the music when we were only doing rusok senja-ta.
Screw up number 2. Miss Koh invited the principal down even before i informed him the parade was ready.
Screw up number 3. Miss Koh talked to me during inspection when my super sensitive mike was turned on. (luckily no one heard what she said)
Screw up number 4. Miss Koh forgot to stop the guest after inspection for me to report to him. ended up doing when he went back to the dias.
Screw up number 5. I forgot to be in sedi-a position when i gave baris sedi-a.
Luckily, none of them was actually major and actually by close inspection we can see whose name appeared the most in the screw-ups. But since it's over, i wouldn't want to think about it again.

Today i heard something interesting over the radio.
Have anyone ever wondered why eagles always seem to look so superior and strong? They just seem to be the best of the pack and seldom do we see one that's fat or weak unlike pigeons. The truth is, there is survival of the fittest in the world of eagles. When the eagles are still little eaglets, the mother eagle will bring back the worms or prey for them but it does not distribute the food evenly. Instead, it'll give the food to the eaglet which fights the hardest and fiercest for its food, probably even at the expense of it's "siblings". In this way, only the strongest of fiercest eaglet gets food and survives and grows into a magnificent eagle whereas the weaker or lazier ones soon die of hunger. That is why eagles are always so powerful and superior to the other birds--- just because they practise survival of the fittest.
The lesson we have to learn from this story is that fairness is not always the best practice to implement sometimes, especially if the aim is to create the strongest team possible. Sometimes, we really have to get rid of those who are weak and retain those who will add value or contribute to the team. This is the fastest and most effective way to create a strong team. I will keep this in mind from now on, because i think we left this out when choosing the house committee nominees.
I wonder if the aquila house committee actually know about this story, since they worship the eagle. Maybe that's why they have such a dynamic and strong team now.
I've learnt something new today, have you? :P

I'm feeling much better today. I love floorball, it always makes me feel happy. Till now, I think I've scored in every single game, although some are really lucky shots. Come to think of it, I should have stuck in hockey in the first place. I realised I'm quite stupid to quit hockey because it clashes with harmonica practices, only to quit harmonica in the end because i have no interest in it. If i didn't quite hockey, I may not be in house comm, hockey and NPCC at the same time which is absolutely awesome.
On the way home, i encountered a pretty intersting boy. I was walking beside him and whenever i overtook him, he'll run and overtake me again, only to slow down and walk when he realised he'd overtook me. Then, I'll just continue walking and once i overtook him, the cycle goes on again, so much so that the little boy even overshot his house and looked quite embarassed.
Dunman High speech day is just 4 days away, and up till today, we've haven't even gotten a proper rehearsal done. Almost had it today until it rained. really hope it'll go well this friday, so that i can put on my No.1 uniform with pride. Now all it's doing is hanging on my closet door.
Decided to try it on today in the NPCC room but somehow the picture didn't turn out so well.

I think i'm suffering from depression, or at least the premature stage of depression. I've been feeling super restless, tired and sleepy these few days and I just keep thinking of the bad things that has happened to me before. To add to my misery, I'm now down with a slight fever and flu. Are these symptoms of depression?
This year's house committee nominees are largely disappointing as compared to my year. Firstly, they don't seem to click very well together and every nominee is just cooped up within his or her own house. I can still vividly remember last year, where we were so close to each other that we even had a sentosa outing.
Everyday's journey home was accompanied by Zeya, Kimberly, Chien Wei and maybe even Beverley, Clarissa or Ashvin. I even attended Musicfest with CK and Clarissa Lee! However, in the end, it still didn't seem to work out. Now, all that remaining active members are probably me, Joyce, Jenn Haur, Kai Xiang, Daryl and probably a few others. This is quite worrying, as even us, who were so close initially, could just break up like that, what about the nominees, who don't even seem to know what's going on around other houses. Secondly, i guess this is partly our fault that many of us were fooled by the nominees' performances at the interviews. It is evident that there are many who can talk but with no actions. I'm really guilty towards those who did not perform so well in the interviews but are currently very active in the house, like Charmaine and Ginny. Looking back at one year ago, i also flopped my interview but i still got my chance to prove my worth in house committee. I just hope that those SLACKERS will hopefully WAKE UP in time and not cause the downfall of the house.
Somehow, I'm hating my class, 05S27, more and more. Maybe hate is too strong a word, probably dislike is a better word. I just do not see why they've changed so much since the first three months on last year, from a super lively bunch of fun-loving friends to a group of unenthusiastic people whose characteristics are exactly those i hate very much. People try to pon school at any chance they can, not caring about anything unless it's related to academics, becoming more and more "fake" and so many more i just can't bring myself to think about. Just that night, I was so hoping that i was in S22. They're definitely a much more united, supportive, enthusiastic class that even an outsider like me will envy. I feel much closer to so many of them like Kimberly, Kai Xiang, Faiz, etc than to people in S27. Maybe on the surface S27 looks like a super united class, but we have to face it, it's all just a facade. I once believed that Draco is fundamentaly supported by S27 alone, nowadays, i just can't bring myself to say it. Like what Tee Yan used to put as his nick, "Change is the only permanent thing in the world", everything and everyone is changing fast and maybe it's just because I ain't changing that's why I feel this way.
Or maybe, I'm really suffering from depression...
please bring back all these to me...

I've decided to change my layout because the old layout is now the new background for the draco noticeboard. But somehow, it turned out to be quite different from the original one my blog had. But never mind, with my new layout, I've also decided to blog more intelligently and not simply bitch about thigns happening around myself.
I've gotten a Band 2 for my Project Work. Rather disappointed and this was the painful experience i had when getting back my results.
Me (met Mr Choy in the canteen alone because i ponned econs) : Mr Choy, do you have out PW results?
Mr Choy: Yup, It's all here.
Me: So what did i get?
Mr Choy: Alan ah.... Congrats, you got a band 1.
Me (running around the canteen, exclaiming to my friends) : Yay! Band 1! Band 1! Band 1!
After 5 minutes...
Mr Choy: Alan ah... sorry sorry, I made a mistake. You got a band 2.
Jenn haur: Don't make fun of him lehz.
Me: Really ahz?
Mt Choy: Yah, i really saw wrongly. You got a band 2, but don't worry about it.
Me: ............
So that's the end of my wonderful project work journey that ended with a band 2. Maybe something to make me feel better is that 60% of the cohort got a band 2 and my class had only 5 band 1 and 18 band 2. so we can clearly see what made the difference, can't we?
Sports day this year was probably what made me feel super rockbottom depressed. First of all, i ran the worst 100m race i had ever ran and got 8th. I didn't know what was going through my mind when i was running. Somehow i was super distracted and my mind wasn't on the race. I even lost to Imran and some lynx guy whom i dunno. I guess my personal target was to hit at least a 5th position, but somehow that didn't happen. Till the 60-70m mark i was still at least 4th but somehow i lost all of it at the last moment. Maybe that signals the end of my sprinting passion and maybe i should just, like what the soccer stars always say, hang up my boots, spikes in this case.
I have so much to blog about but somehow i can't reorganise my thoughts. Shall type in parts i guess. To be continued...

my famous yellow nike water bottle has just been pronounced dead (or rather lost). it was left at the arts concourse after the artery launch and have been missing since then. If anyone has seen it, please return it to its rightful owner, the most handsome guy of 05S27 and you'll be handsomely rewarded.
anyway, today was a super sianz day. by saying sianz i really means "super siannnnnnnnnnnnn". lessons were boring and it actually rained as if it haven't rained before in a month. and it actually happened while me and zuhao were on our way to visit the newly opened tampines gym. many thanks to juleng, who dragged us to stay behind in school for a while, causing us to meet with the storm on that infamous single-decked bus 31. some events that happened on the bus...
saw a boy with a super beehive-styled hairstyle. it was almost a complete circular shape. his hair was so dry you'll probably thought it was the chinese "fa cai" that people add in soup. i think when he bathes, water appears as droplets on his hair manz. finally chin yong has met his match. i know i'm quite evil to take his photo, but the trip was really boring.
next up, i started to feel my left thigh getting wet and guess what? i've successfully chose the only seat in the whole damn bus that was leaking, and judging from the number of people in the bus, it was quite hard for me to change seats or even stand up. this always happens to me... oh my, i'm quite accurate in choosing seats with leaking roofs.
the ITE(east) stop was always the most interesting stop of the journey. it's always the stop where you meet people who talk as if they were told to shut up for the whole day, or u meet people who try to squeeze onto the bus when it's obviously packed. whichever happenes, the bus always becomes damn packed after this stop. so at this stop, the woman in pink appeared!
she's like the most interesting friend you could ever have.
1. she talks to her friend standing beside her and judging from her volume, i think her friend is either deaf, or even if she's alright, she might become deaf after listening to her.
2. she says the most interesting stuff from the moment she boards to the interchange. stuff like"(in chinese) my mum says the rain are god's tears, it must be quite sad; my dad says the thunder are the *exorcist sounds* sounds we make when we cry; HAHAHAHAHA; wah i have typing lessons tml lehz" OMG! is your life that interesting?
3. as zuhao was falling asleep, she actually told her friend in chinese, "use a hammer and whack his head, he sure wake up de"............ OMG how childish does she wanna be? and she says that like as if she wants the whole bus to hear. and she doesn't even get the hint when i was staring at her or even tried to take her ugly picture... yucks...
heard that there's a "pond" in bedok today after the rain and it happened to be on the stretch of road i travel to school daily. finally the radio is making a report on that worst stretch of road in singapore. daniel one was saying, "they're expanding the reservoir!" i found it quite interesting... if possible, dun go to the road joining bedok reservoir road and bedok north ave 3. it sucks...

saw a boy with a super beehive-styled hairstyle. it was almost a complete circular shape. his hair was so dry you'll probably thought it was the chinese "fa cai" that people add in soup. i think when he bathes, water appears as droplets on his hair manz. finally chin yong has met his match. i know i'm quite evil to take his photo, but the trip was really boring.
next up, i started to feel my left thigh getting wet and guess what? i've successfully chose the only seat in the whole damn bus that was leaking, and judging from the number of people in the bus, it was quite hard for me to change seats or even stand up. this always happens to me... oh my, i'm quite accurate in choosing seats with leaking roofs.
the ITE(east) stop was always the most interesting stop of the journey. it's always the stop where you meet people who talk as if they were told to shut up for the whole day, or u meet people who try to squeeze onto the bus when it's obviously packed. whichever happenes, the bus always becomes damn packed after this stop. so at this stop, the woman in pink appeared!
she's like the most interesting friend you could ever have.
1. she talks to her friend standing beside her and judging from her volume, i think her friend is either deaf, or even if she's alright, she might become deaf after listening to her.
2. she says the most interesting stuff from the moment she boards to the interchange. stuff like"(in chinese) my mum says the rain are god's tears, it must be quite sad; my dad says the thunder are the *exorcist sounds* sounds we make when we cry; HAHAHAHAHA; wah i have typing lessons tml lehz" OMG! is your life that interesting?
3. as zuhao was falling asleep, she actually told her friend in chinese, "use a hammer and whack his head, he sure wake up de"............ OMG how childish does she wanna be? and she says that like as if she wants the whole bus to hear. and she doesn't even get the hint when i was staring at her or even tried to take her ugly picture... yucks...

friday was a rather interesting day in VJC for me. firstly, it was a super short day which i end school at 12.10pm. secondly, there was artery launch in the afternoon where sax on the beach and i will be performing. lastly, there was musicfest at night.
throughout the day, as zuhao was absent due to a fever, ian and i were planning an april's fool joke to prank zuhao. i was zupposed to memorise the lyrics of "wonderwall" and later perform it at the artery launch, where ian will announce the end of zuhao's "carreer" as sax on the beach's lead singer and i will replace him. we practised for a while but everything didn't happen in the end... haha, everything ian plans always turns out like that! but it was fun jamming with sax on the beach, and i found out that i can actually sing "collide" with zhilin quite well!
the artery launch was quite successful in my opinion. the crowd was slightly more than that at candyfest, primarily because of the lucky draw i guess, of which the prize everyone craves is the musicfest ticket! to my surprise, i actually won the first ticket they gave out. to think i actually bought one from steph just a while before that. sold it to roy at $5. just don't feel like taking advantage of friends. what's the point of making profit from the sale of musicfest tickets? will that be your future career? anyway, my performance at artery was alright in my opinion, but i guess chinese songs always don't seem to appeal the the mass. so i guess "unwell" probably has a better response. it even had a special effect of the thunder just after i finished the bridge and was reaching the last chorus.
now for my opinion on musicfest. musicfest was quite successful actually, despite all the screw-ups and problems encountered during the auditions and semi finals. however, it was evident that the standard was rather low(this is a valid point, as i surveyed quite a couple of audience).
just look at the solo category. what in the world was irvin singing? haha, who cares if he's feeling good or feeling horny? his "singing", lousy dance steps, combined with inappropriate entrance and exit (what's the use of the bpxes anyway?) certainly made me feel good that i'm not supporting him for the contest. debbie, on the other hand, was rather impressive. i supported her after her semifinals performace of "how do i live" and i'm glad she didn't sing a slow song this time. i was rather impressed by her composure and movement on stage, totally natural and confident. however, a few of us felt that she didn't really choose the correct song to sing. perhaps "toxic" might suit her better, haha! lastly, christabel's performance was slightly better than irvin i think. but her entrance was rather weird. since when do contestants say "testing testing" before they sing??? haha. and somehow, halfway through the song i started to get drowsy, wonder if it's her or izzit the pizza i ate for dinner??? i would say her singing was probably slightly better than average. but anyway, my prediction of debbie winning the solo category was spot-on! and surprisingly, christabel won the most SMS votes award... i wonder why?
next up was the dance category. i was supporting escnad because steph and jing were in it, and i know they're really good! first up was blaze, a somewhat 2nd generation of the legendary black five last year. their original indie-pop dance steps were captivating i must admit, but it isn't hard for a dance-idiot like me to notice their rather messy dance steps a few times during the performance and probably lack of practice. but they were definitly the most entertaining dance group that night. next up was risque, an all girl dance group from VJC dance. i was quite surprised to see debbie inside risque as well, someone who can sing damn well and dance at the same time??? i'm impressed. they were quite similar the last years big footed rhino as well, somewhat a combination of cheerleading and hip hop with lots of sexiness as well. could see that they had lots of foundation and dance practices so they were comparatively better than blaze. escnad was up next and i could hear so many people cheering for jinglin lahz. my eyes were glued on jinglin and steph and maybe a bit of ruth throughout the whole dance and really in terms of dance they were the best group. however, to tell the truth, it was something that perhaps you'll see in various dance concerts without much surprise. but it was better than last year's dance actually and i really enjoyed their performance. my guess was between risque and escnad and it turned out that risque won it, which means debbie is a double winner. however, i know escnad wun be too disappointed by the result because they love performing, and they have fans who enjoying watching them, like me!
i would say the group category was the worst category, or rather the one with the lowest standard. i hoped hong sheng's group will win it because their performance is always full of surprises. for the first duet, ka hei and joel, i was very impressed with joel's voice, deep and attractive. nope, i'm not gay, but it was really good. but somehow, he and ka hei shouldn't be performing on the same stage as i felt that their voice didn't go together. u have "ka hei's nice voice", "joel's nice voice", but u don't have "ka hei AND joel's nice voice" so i thought it was rather disappointing. next up was hong sheng's group doing a mdely of three songs. have nothing much to say about them excepy that hong sheng's voice is really good and jeremy shouldn't have sang so loud to cover his voice. hong sheng's the lead singer after all. rayner and jasmine were perhaps the weakest group in this category. singing was so-so but stage prescence was quite good. i heard they were supposed to rub backs with each other but it didn't happen. nonetheless, it was an interesting way of presenting as they got zhini and rayner's cousin to play the guitar and drums for them. as expected, hong sheng's group came out tops and i'm happy for them.
the band category was perhaps the most anticipated group. and definitely, the camels were the hot favourite judging from the amount of cheering they had. i predicted they will win it too. daniel band was first up and in my opinion they were really just average. it was no difference from their usual boring performance except for nigel's slightly clearer singing. liang hong's drum solo was quite interesting though. the bandits were quite popular as well as they did "bring me to life". they had great face paint on them which added a lot of entertainment to their song. however, a whole lot of technical error led to a somewhat unimpressive performance. i think ramses would have done much better if not for the technical screw-ups. however, i think their singer just couldn't bring out the feeling of the song. the camels drew lots and lots of cheering from the crowd just by announcing that they'll be doing "have a nice day". it was one of my favourite songs as well. i guess they were rather smart to choose this song, as it turned out that almost the whole PT was singing "have a nice day" along with them at the end of the chorus. in my opinion that was the best performance for the whole night, maybe it was saving the best for the last. everyone thought the camels would win it, but somehow, the daniel band won the best band award. the camels didn't even win the most SMS votes award despite the enormous support they had from the crowd. i think there were lots of people like me, support and don't vote. but i voted thee votes for escnad lor!!! haha.
in conclusion, musicfest was really uncomparable to the previous year, and it's standard is really not there. one commendable point would be the 2 emcees, imran and priya. probably they were the best performers for the night, providing us with much laughter and entertainment. but all the stuff mentioned above are my own opinions and they're really what i think from the bottom of my heart. probably everyone who performed that night deserved a high five for a job well done. but i guess it was something that even if u missed it, it wouldn't be much of a loss anyway.
